WENDY HESKETH - AERIAL DANCE INTENSIVE
This intensive will be led by Wendy Hesketh of Wired Aerial Theatre, a Liverpool-based company, and will introduce
bungee-assisted dance work to participants. This will involve wearing a specially designed harness and being connected to a
stretchy network of bungee cords which allow you to dance on the floor, but also to glide and be suspended for moments as well.
You will experience the wonderful feeling of flying while in a position to place your feet back on the floor whenever you wish.
The workshop will progress to wall work, using the wall as our floor with the assistance of the harness and aerial equipment.
Sessions will start with a physical warm-up and movement class, followed by an introduction to the equipment and a teacher-led
exploration of it. Participants will take turns working in threes on each piece of equipment, working towards creating a short
bungee-assisted dance phrase.
The Dance Intensive takes place at The Higher Space, 10 Cotton Street, Liverpool, L3 7DY from 10am-4pm, Saturday 1st March & Sunday 2nd March 2008. The cost is £50/£40.
